1
Wet Umbrella Stacker
A special shelf for stacking wet umbrellas in individual pockets with drainage facility. Useful in places like supermarkets, churches, canteen etc.

Mobile App For Pump Status
Development of a Mobile application to know the operational status of a pump / electrical gadget installed at a distant. In ajce, pumps in remote wells are operated locally. Due to power failure / other problems, sometimes, pumps stop. Operator (security Guards) need to know the pump status through a mobile application. Another requirement is to know the water level in overhead tanks.

Adulterant Detector
Adulterated petrol is sometimes used in petrol bunks. The task here is to develop a detector to find the adulterant, if any while pouring the petrol inside the tank of the vehicle from the petrol bunk.  A sensor like equipment may give the idea of presence of adulterant but it will be good   if the detector can identify the adulterant and its composition too.

Device To Clean Mud From Water Tank
To develop a system by which bottom of the water tanks can be cleaned without removing the water frequently. Usually as time passes the bottom part of the open or closed tanks layered up with mud which is removed by throwing the water completely from the tank. It is wastage of water. Recycling by the method of filtering is also time consuming process and requires water removing, filtering and refilling by external units. So the challenge is to device a unit that can clean the mud from the bottom.

Knowledge Kiosk
Nowadays we use a lot educational contents in the form of Video Tutorials(Coursera , NPTEL, edX Videos, Spoken Tutorials-IITB), Animations and also Software Packages to enhance the academic knowledge, technical/non technical skills, . Sharing these contents to the students is always a challenge. Since these contents occupy large size, downloading/uploading over the internet is not a practical solution always and it takes a lot of time.Sharing it via USB drives will actually share Viruses also, if windows based systems are used.So here I propose to use a high memory capacity Linux based Local Server System with interfaces for USB Connectivity, LAN Connectivity, which is modeled like an ATM with easy to navigate GUI with proper security mechanisms. Once the system is in place(in an accessible place), Teachers will be able to upload/download to/from the system and the students will be able to download the contents offline. This is a general solution to internet connectivity issues faced in rural parts of India ieA student is always provided with the required contents to enhance his/her knowledge & skills irrespective of whether he/she has internet connectivity and importantly without spreading viruses.

Sprayer For Agriculture
Trees like Areca nut and coconut does not have branches on the trunk. The crops are at the top of the tree which grows to 30-35 meters length. Both the crops are very prone to different types of germ attack and the farmers lose their crops. It is very difficult to apply the pesticides effectively due to the height. It will be very helpful for the farmers if one can make a suitable object that can crawl the trees, spray the pesticides on the crop effectively and pluck the crop and so (multipurpose) by controlling it from the ground itself integrating it with a visual media.

A Prosthetic Hand Design And Fabrication
A lot of people gets amputated of their hands due to various reasons. This project aims at making a prosthetic hand which can do various operations needed in our daily lives. The present prosthetic hands are simple structures which are not capable of having such motions.

Indirect Crack Length Measurement
In a cracked body, as the length of the crack increases, the electrical resistance of the material also increases. If we apply a constant voltage across the crack faces, the potential drop also increases due to the change in the crack length as it grows. A crack length monitoring device can be thought of. Such a device can monitor any engineering structures and can warn when the crack growth rate is alarmingly fast.

Amal Jyothi Messenger
I challenge the Amal Jyothi community to develop a unique mobile application named "Amal Jyothi Messenger" (Similar to Watsapp, or line) through which the Amal Jyothi Staff and Faculties may be able to be connected with each other through a WIFI or other connectivity options.  The application should be designed in such a way that the faculty or staff may be able to talk to each other or send message free of charge (Without spending their mobile balance or data balance)  possibly by using the WIFI connectivity.  This will reduce the money spend by faculty in communication with each other.   i presume that  the challenge can be fulfilled by the theories of computer applications and mobile technology.

Tapioca Harvesting Machine
Tapioca is harvested by hand by raising the lower part of the stem and pulling the roots out of the ground, then removing them from the base of the plant. The upper parts of the stems with the leaves are plucked off before harvest. Harvesting should be done in dry season, as tapioca will have high percentage of starch content. So a large amount of effort is required for harvesting the tapioca. The purpose of the project is to develop a portable tapioca harvesting machine which enables the farmer to harvest tapioca more easily.

Portable drainage cleaning machine
A drainage system in urban and industrial areas is a facility to dispose of liquid waste. It is beneficial to have an underground drainage system since any water on top of the roof will be discarded through it into the street. This will help to retain the house's foundation in a better condition. However, inadvertently dust, debris and other residue will flow with the rainwater, and this may cause blockages in the system from time to time.  As a result an underground drainage system will require cleaning and maintenance from time to time

Extraction of wild honey from bee hives on tall buildings
Beehives on tall building pose a risk as the bees can attack people even causing death. A safe mechanism to dislodge the beehives and extract honey without killing the bees need to be developed
