Waste heat recovery from biomass
cook stove. Biomass is the primary
fuel for cooking in rural areas of india.
The traditional cook stove has a very low thermal efficiency and emits
lot of particulate matter and carbon monoxide. The project aims to recover
the waste heat from the biomass cook
stove, without affecting the basic cooking operation. The objective is to
feed the waste heat from the the stove and feed it to a solar still. Feeding
additional temperature to the solar still will improve its output yield. When
the solar still is not in operation the heat can be stored in the form of hot
water in a storage tank which can then
be used for domestic purpose. Thus both efficient cooking as well as
fresh water production can be enhanced through this project. The whole
project is based on the concept of natural circulation. The proposed system
will be very useful in remote villages as well as costal areas.

Automation of the surrounding
environment allows a modern human being to increase his work efficiency and
comfort. There has been a significant development in the automation of an
individual’s routine tasks. In present times, mobile phones are the most
frequently and widely used gadget. Hence some daily household tasks can be
accomplished by personifying the use of the mobile phone. Home automation
system (has) has been designed for the dtmf tones in mobile phones to
automate a microcontroller which controls a number of home appliances like
lights, fans, bulbs and many more using on/off relay. The automated approach
of controlling the devices in a household will ease the task of using the
traditional method of the switch. The main advantage of the circuit is the
vast range from which it can control the devices, ie from anywhere in the
world. This circuit can be used to turn on/off electronic devices at our
homes, to turn on sprinklers for specified amount of time, to open/close
gates and to ensure theft prevention.

In recent days the power
generation using renewable energy sources gained more attraction. The most commonly
available and used energy
resources are solar and wind. The objective presented here is the production of the electricity from the wind that caused by the passing of the vehicles in highways by the principle of electromagnetic induction. In highways there are huge amount of wind energy generated by the passing of vehicles. So our aim is to convert this wind energy in to electricity by using the principle electromagnetic induction. We know that in present days the street lights in highways are glow by solar power. That is the one of the best renewable energy source in the world. But one of the main drawback is we can generate power only in day time. But in this project this problem is solved. We can generate power day time as well as in night also. We are standing in the side of highways we can experience an amount air pressure by the passing of vehicles in highways. We can convert this wind energy in to electricity by using some wind shields, iron rod and a magnetic field. By using this method we can generate power and can easily glow the street lights. It requires only first installation cost and no other maintains cost is required. So this setup can be used in the highway side for glowing the street light as well as the power required for operating traffic signal system. |

Now a day's
accidents caused by speedy buses are increasing. Most of them are caused by
passengers or conductors carelessness. Some of the reasons that we can point
out are
1. Bus starts moving while someone is climbing the steps 2.bus traveling without closing the door which some times leads to accidents 3.people standing on the stairs near the door. So our group suggests a new safety measure ,a simple solution towards this problem by creating a module which avoid the bus from moving when a person is climbing the step or if the door is not closed and will decrease the speed below 40kmph if someone climbs down the step during the running time. This system will also include a display that will alert the driver when some one climbs down the steps. We hope bus accidents caused by the above noted problems will decrease to a certain rate. |

Metal detectors are fascination
machines. Many of the people who use them are just asenthusiastic about
extolling the virtues of their favourite
metal detector as they are about setting off in search of buried treasure.
This is the primary means by which we determine how well we are doing our
jobs, and what sort of things we need to do better. Sometimes though,
communication is difficult.
The most commonly used metal detection technology is very low frequency (vlf), also known as induction balance. In this type of metal detector, there are two rings: an outer coil called the transmitter coil and an inner coil called the receiver coil. The transmitter coil has an electric current running through it, which creates an electromagnetic field. This magnetic pulse interacts with any conductive object it passes over, causing that object to create a weaker magnetic field of its own; it is this magnetic pulse from the object that the receiver coil senses. The receiver coil is shielded from thetransmitter coil's magnetic field, but can pick up magnetic pulses sent by other objects. The receiver coil amplifies these frequencies and sends them to the control box for analysis using this metal detector technowledgy in a robot land mine detection has become much easier and possible..we use a much simpler low cost circuit to make this technowledgy much more cheaper and easier |

This invention relates to novel
and improved means for automatically folding garments such as shirts,
t-shirts, towels etc. An object of the invention is to provide novel means
for automatically folding garments longitudinally and transversally by power means.
The folding plate or wing plate is being hinged at the outer end of each arm.
The shirt is placed beneath this assembly, button strip down and arms
extended. In the folding sequence, the wings are swung inwardly making the
first fold. A transverse fold for the shirt can be made at any intermediate
points. Two locking mechanisms are employed in order to retain a perfect
shape and size for the shirt after folding. The three flaps will be working
once per cycle. The wings and arms are independently mounted and are
independently operatable and controllable for tilting movement around a
common axis. The purpose of this tilting movement is to bring the arms and
wings into and out of folding positions with shirt. This machine comprises
novel apparatus for execution of the method.

A shoe-embedded piezoelectric
energy harvester for wearable sensors
harvesting mechanical energy from human motion is an attractive approach for obtaining clean and sustainable electric energy to power wearable sensors, which are widely used for health monitoring, activity recognition, gait analysis and so on. This paper studies a piezoelectric energy harvester for the parasitic mechanical energy in shoes originated from human motion. The harvester is based on a specially designed sandwich structure with a thin thickness, which makes it readily compatible with a shoe. Besides, consideration is given to both high performance and excellent durability. The harvester provides an average output power of 1 mw during a walk at a frequency of roughly 1 hz. Furthermore, a direct current (dc) power supply is built through integrating the harvester with a power management circuit. The dc power supply is tested by driving a simulated wireless transmitter, which can be activated once every 2–3 steps with an active period lasting 5 ms and a mean power of 50 mw. This work demonstrates the feasibility of applying piezoelectric energy harvesters to power wearable sensors. |

Deals with development of a sytem
with can alert a person (who takes care of them) when a patient walks or
wanderers from bed(elderly).basic idea is to use sensor at the feet ot the
patient(pressure sensor) which can be used to actually alert a person
elsewhere e using a Smartphone app. also planning to try and add many more
like say automatic switching on of lights at night when the elderly walks. It
can be well used in cases were the patient cant walk without help and cases
of wandering like Alzheimer suferers.basically lets to monitor them and its
an automatic call for help for them.

An automated platform crossing
bridge in railway station. The bridge appears automatically when it is safe
ie, no train arriving . This would help prevent the tedious climbing of steps
to cross platforms. Sensors have to be placed like at a proper distance from
the station and the bridge has to move from the track at a safe time before
the arrival of the train.
