2015
The ASCII-I2U
selection committee received 58
proposals for the contest and shortlisted 16
proposals under ECE, EEE, IT, CSE and 11
proposals under ME, AUE, CE, CH, and MTG for second phase evaluation after
initial screening. Each student team presented their proposal before a panel of
judges on 15th December at two different venues in parallel
headed by Dr Jacob Philip and Prof. Job
Kurian respectively. The panels evaluated each proposal based on their
innovativeness, potential impact, and thoroughness of the proposal and
practicability of implementation. Based on their recommendation, the following 18 projects have been selected for
funding support from the college.
Each team is required to plan well for the execution of the
project. Faculty mentors are requested to ensure that the team completes the
project implementation in a systematic and timely manner. The deadline for the completion
of 9 projects out of 18 involving the final year students is,
by the third week of April 2015.
Rest of the projects will be evaluated in the month of October 2015.
The funding requirements for purchase of components etc. may
be communicated to Dean, Research, through the faculty mentors and the
college will support each project to the tune of half the amount at the
beginning based on requirements. After mid-term evaluation by an expert panel
during first or second week of March
2015, the rest of the amount recommended by the committee will be
supported. Additional funding may be solicited from external sponsors.
